In the 150 years since the Society has been in New Zealand it has given practical assistance to thousands of people. The vision of the Society is to live the gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice, hope, and joy, and by working to shape
a more just and compassionate society. It was founded by Frederic Ozanam and named in honour of St. Vincent de Paul.
